Revolutionary 1 on 1 replacement to HPS
Lightera® Flow series LED grow lights, the really robust solution and most easy way to step into LED lighting and generate the additional benefits of LEDs, including the high crop yield, better crop quality. It is a plug-and-play replacement and will be so quick. The previous electrical cabling and connectors can be reused and new LED fixture can be mounted to the same positions on the trellis.
How to be 1 on 1 ?
Compact design fits seamlessly in HPS layouts and can be mounted on an existing HPS connection to save time and money during installation.
And installation is easier thanks to easy-to-install brackets.
The universal design of this system gives growers the possibility to fully equip their greenhouse with LED lights or to change their current set-up into a hybrid system with LED and HPS lighting.
Equivalent Intensity at 20% lower wattage, 2000µmol/s at 800w
And it can be dimmer up to 1000w.
That means it has the potential to give growers the flexibility to increase light intensity for a specific crop or expand the illumination area, using the same or much less electricity
Nearly Identical Light pattern
HPS Lights have a 360° angle, half the light produced is aimed up and away from plants. So reflector is needed to reflect as much of this light back down to the garden.
LED Lights have more narrow angle, and it is not so easy to extend the light evenly to the coverage which HPS can. Our optic engineers work a lot to design lens to distribute accurate light as a full replacement to HPS.
Value added of Lightera® Flow Series LED grow light
Having covered the mechanical and light differences between HPS and LED, there are some other elements as value-added to growers.
More efficient and extended lifespan
The most efficient HPS light on the market produces 2.2 µmol/watt with a brand new bulb. There, we said it – HPS lights are pretty efficient. And the efficiency drops far below 2.0 µmol / watt at their typical end of life (24000hrs). For LED, we achieve a much higher initial light 2.6 µmol/watt, and emit valid light during its extended lifespan 50000hrs (70% of original rated output)
Less heat under LEDs
Compared to HPS, LED produce very little radiant heat, and this gives growers more independent control over heat in their greenhouse climate.
We have also heard a lot about heating greenhouses with HPS lights - that the radiated heat from HPS lights is a side benefit to growers in cold regions such as Canada, the Northern US etc. While heating greenhouses with HPS lights might be a simple solution, but the efficiency is relatively poor from a lifecycle point of view, and this can cost growers a lot of money over time.
Customizable broad spectrumFor all the artificial light sources, LED is the only one of which spectrum can be tailored. Our biologists investigated the effect of specific spectrum band on plant growing and customize the spectrum to needs of the crop cultivated. This enable the growers to influence various parameters of the plant such as biomass, form, nutrition content, taste and the point in time of the flowering.
